Palazzo Gallo, also known as the ancient Palazzo Assanti-Aragona in Gallipoli, dates back to 1486. In 2012 it was masterfully renovated, while trying to leave its history and furnishings intact. The owners of the Palace who have succeeded one another over the years, from the Assantis to the Aragonas, from the De Tommasis to Vincenzo Gallo, owner since the mid-19th century, have distinguished themselves as illustrious men and above all as patrons, supporting artistic activities. The Palace has very ancient origins (1486) even if over the years it has undergone significant transformations. Traces of the first settlements are still visible in the Aragonese suite, where the original masonry has been the subject of careful and meticulous restoration, giving new luster to the old wall facing through a wise use of lights and crystal walls. Each suite, like the entire palace, is strongly characterized by the presence of references to Lecce stone, Salento culture and Baroque style, with unique period furniture and details. Finally, on the lower floor of the property there is an ancient oil mill that makes the history of the Palace even more fascinating.
